DiSC profiling is a world class behavioural profiling tool. It shows how individuals take in information, problem solve, influence others and the work environment to increase performance.  These reports accurately show the preferences both naturally, (given the choice) and how they may adapt their preference when in the workplace.   If your team member is constantly having to adapt their behaviour in the workplace, it is likely their performance will dip and there will be high levels of anxiety.  If you adapt the role to suit their natural preferences you will gain a more productive, engaged, highly valued member of the team


The DiSC® model provides a common language people can use to better understand themselves and learn how to adapt their behaviours with others - these skills help create stronger relationships; useful in many ways: within a work team, in sales and marketing, or as a leader or manager.



The Power Of DiSC Profiling

If everyone was the same life would be very dull.  Building effective teams and managing them well is one of the hardest aspects of running a business.  By understanding what makes someone tick you can develop their role and communicate with them to get the most from them. For example, putting someone reserved and detail focussed in to a customer facing role may not be the best fit.

Ideally the DiSC forms part of the recruitment process, helping decision makers make an informed choice on the best candidate.  The report will show their manager how to communicate best with them and their ideal working environment.

There can be conflict within a team. This is often caused by different DiSC profiles not understanding how other people prefer to communicate. Some people learn through conversation and love change; other people need a quiet space and lots of detail.  Once the team members learn about DiSC they can appreciate each others differences and what each party brings to the team.

DiSC measures your tendencies and preferences — your patterns of behaviour. It does not measure intelligence, aptitude, mental health or values. There are no right or wrong styles, there are however job roles that are more suited to different styles.

The DiSC model discusses four preferences:

  • Dominance – outgoing, quick at decision making, very fact focussed; they can be direct, strong-willed and forceful
  • Influence – sociable, talkative and lively, great at motivating others
  • Steadiness – gentle, accommodating and nurturing
  • Conscientiousness – private, analytical and logical

Psychologists have been measuring personality traits since the 1930s. Since that time they have strived to better understand personality and to create a way of measuring it.  The DiSC assessment we use has been developed by Dr Tony Alessandra, one of the global leaders in his field. He has written over 30 books on relationships in the workplace. They have been fine tuned over the last 15 years and are extremely accurate.


The Process:

The DiSC reports are an online assessment that takes around 15 minutes to complete. As soon as the assessment is submitted a report is produced. The reports vary in length from 37 pages to over 50 depending on which you choose:

  • Sales DiSC
  • Leadership DiSC
  • General DiSC

Once the reports are in the system we can then call off reports for the team giving you valuable data:

  • Behavioural graphs: identifying where there may be conflict in the team
  • Group graphs: see the graphs side by side
  • Team dynamics: looks at the mix of styles within the company to ensure a balance of profiles
  • Collaboration report: detailed analysis of 2 people outlining differences in detail

If you are new to DiSC then we recommend our 2 hour training course: we will give everyone a clear background on what DiSC is, how it works, how to read your reports and most importantly how to implement your learning.  The value of the DiSC report isn’t in completing it. It’s in selecting the right person for the job; adapting skills and changing the way you write emails; the way you manage meetings – that is where the value lies.

The recommended group size is no more than 15 people. When run at a premises provided by you the investment is only £600+VAT in total.
